A NOTE FROM THE WRITER:
Like most boys, I was fascinated by superheroes.
They were amongst my earliest teachers. Symbols of strength. Of resilience. Archetypes who taught me how to navigate life.
I could spend hours at home playing with my eclectic collection of toys: Batman, Superman, and my older brother’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In a way, I was doing “crossovers” long before the term entered the cultural psyche.
In the winter of 2023, I went through a kind of “dark night” of my own. Naturally, I channelled that energy into something more constructive: storytelling, martial arts, and stength-training.
During my time in China, often fighting off the idleness of the school system, I would open up the pages and continue shaping these two-part episodes. That process helped me stay grounded. It gave me space to reflect on my life - and to channel those reflections into the story.
While this is inspired by Batman: The Animated Series, there’s a clear departure in tone and direction from the brilliant foundations set by Bruce Timm. (And if you haven’t already, his series bible is well worth a read.)

SYNOPSIS
after a crippling defeat in the guise of the batman, bruce wayne vanishes, sparking a major gcpd investigation led by the newly appointed commissioner.
as tensions rise within the city, a solitary figure heads out on an international mission, to a mystery monastery, to confront the ghosts of his past and to heal himself before gotham falls further into anarchy.
